ancora/again...

the street where, year-round, people make the precepe (nativity scenes) that bring the ancient into the daily scheme. jesus born in the center of brothels and bakers, butchers, fishermen and pizzarias.

santa chiara. my heart.

the ceramica that blows your eyes away.

via duomo. outside the duomo (the italian word for the big church in a town or a city).

looking back. symbolically as well. the last time i was in the cloisters was this winter on a stormy, rainy day. alone. journaling while watching all the monks file into the dining room for lunch. a surreal time with the music of flowing rain gutters as ambiance.

the duomo.

the statue in the cloisters of santa chiara that ignites my soul. it is near a fresco of saint francis. although it is not labeled, it reminds me of his life and legacy (and his footsteps which i traced when i visited his hometown of asisi this past january).

an incredible art exibition of all 13x13 art pieces in the center of an old cathedral on via duomo.

santa chiara again (sorry these aren't in order).

me and bianca on the sea rocks in the region of the port called mergellina. my favorite bit of sitting-space. vesuvius in view. castel dell'ovo in view. our feet. and our hairs. :)

capo di miseno. sunday, june 4. just after spending a day laying on a beautiful beach. all the boats behind the lighthouse are coming back from day trips to the isola (island) of ischia, not far from here.

mario. a friend at a friend's party on friday, june 2nd in a little town called acerra...

the breathtaking view. my heart.

open windows. symbolic of an open future...
