I have been reading reading reading.((and because in the publishing world, magazines are called "the books", I can get away with talking in this post about both magazines and the traditionally book-bound...))

You should check out "A Winter's Tale" by Mark Helprin. It's long, and because the author is politically conservative, not critically a acclaimed. But, it's fantastic. It's set in a fantastical New York, and is all about Justice and human understanding.
