The Outline I Inhabit.

(Admittance: This post's title is stolen from a poem
by Olena Kalytiak Davis.)

Hi. :)

Ok. Bullet Points. Here goes.
Points of Gratitude.

  • Free ITunes Music Store Podcasts: specifically-- Garrison Keillor's "The Writer's Almanac", Dane Cook Tourgasm video and soundbites, Poem of the Day, The Onion newsbites, UC Berkley's "Human Emotion" class lectures, Ralph Waldo Emmerson's "Self-Reliance" essay Part 1, Imago Dei's "God Images"
  • Canned peaches with crumbled oatmeal cookies on top for breakfast.
  • My two groups of Pharmacist students' answers to the question: "If you could influence the future, what would you cause to happen-- in your personal life, in others' lives, or in the world?" The answers touched on environmental preservation, the need for good leaders, etc. but most of the answers surprised me with their simplicity-- the desiring of a simple life of peace and good things for their children. It was really shaking in the moment.
  • My elegant housemate Sofia's cooking-- risotto with veggies cut ever so delicately... and also her way of giving a second thought to every seemingly wise quote or theory... So refreshing for me, since I get fascinated too easily.
  • Staying up until 2 am. I love the feeling.
  • A crazy "runaway date" experience over a span of 3 weeks... much like a dating version of the Julia Robert's film
  • Not having ANY MONEY. :) The creativity it brings to a day.
  • Painting a new place on a canvas for the first time (yesterday-- on a canvas bought from a hole-in-the-wall art store around the corner from my piazza... from a woman not-so-friendly at first that warmed-up in the end...). Somehow bringing focus to a life season...
  • Bullet points. :) They're so fun and decisive.
  • FREEZING COLD weather that's freaking me out cause it's only October and it's this freakin cold!!!

Basta. Cheers to a Wednesday night on the steps of this Piazza.
