((*)) Natale in Modena ((*))

Buon Natale.
I write this steps away from a Via Emilia <> the center of Modena <> that is streaming with an inpenetratable (sp?) flow of humans. :)
I had to walk alongside my bike in the river of humans-- slowly, slowly. Looking around. Looking up at the lights. Loving the feeling of being one of the many-- one of the mass-- a black and red-jacketed woman in the crowd.
Here are some photo snapshots of Modena as she is this very night.

This is my very world. My very piazza. The streets surrounding my home. The world right outside my window-- sounds and sights seeping through its panes.

This is my favorite street...

This is Via Taglio-- on which is a very yummy pizzaria "La Mamma" si chiama + the bar Juta that's way overrated but where a good friend works.
Here is the oh-so-peaceful masses' heads on a Sunday Via Emilia.
Via Taglio take 2.
Mrs. Renee Marrone Hill would appreciate the "Marroni" sign-- the name of the delicious nuts being roasted by this Piazza Pomposa man...
A fuzzy photo of a window shopper. Window shopping is a VERY SERIOUS deal here. Some shops have all their wares in the window and the window alone. After hours window-standing and discussion is very normal for couples... the best though is seeing a lone male window shopping. A common occurance, expanding male stereotypes for the world. :)

Outside the post office-- the lights that first lit the streets weeks before the others...
An arched hallway/walkway aside the Duomo that is often overlooked. The lights illuminate it, begging the eyes to acknowledge its beauty.

One of the Christmas decorations' stalls in Piazza Pomposa...
Parallel to Via Emilia is this quiet church on the corner of Piazza Pomposa and the via. I love all these layers and the architecture....
